Guadalupe Island is located 150 miles offshore of the Pacific coast of Mexico roughly south of San Diego and WNW of the Baja California peninsula. The size of the island is large (98 square mile, 22 mile long) and is surrounded by deep water reaching depths of 12,000 feet between the island and mainland. The water around the island is very clear, and visibility often reaches more than 100.’ The marine life found in the waters around Guadalupe Island includes: pilot whales, oceanic white tip sharks, blue fin and yellow fin tuna. Along the islands shallower waters you will find garibaldi fish, parrotfish, triggerfish, butterfly fish, lobster, and great white sharks. Along the coast line you can also see elephant seals. Guadalupe Island is becoming a prime location for cage diving for seeing the beautiful great white sharks.
